We always like to let you know when we release new songs and resources. This song, inspired by the Acknowledgement of Country used at Marymount Primary School on the Gold Coast, was written and recorded in 2023. Bernadette created the original artwork to illustrate the song.
In February this year, 2024, I visited the Marymount Mob at Marymount and my old friends from Yaama at St Matthew's, Cornubia, in Logan City, QLD. These two First Nations Communities helped me to record the actions for the song. We kept Bernadette's art as the background.
We think that it is especially valuable for First Nations groups to lead Acknowledgement of or Welcome to Country, particularly on more formal occasions.
Our other new clip is this one, again out of Queensland. This time from St Gerard Majella School in Woree in Cairns, QLD.
