It's been a busy few weeks. I've had some quiet time while on tour in New Zealand so have caught up on some video production.
Follow Me is a prayerful entrance or recessional song written by my long time friend, Wayne Leonard Rice. The video clip features students from Our Lady Help of Christians, Rosemeadow, NSW, for whom the song was written in 2000. The song has a strong theme of what it means to be a disciple, or follower, of Jesus.

And the latest from Jen Charadia:
"These words, In God and for God, speak to us of a way of being as well as a way of doing. They gently remind us to invite our ever-present God into our stillness and our daily activities so that we may be more consciously in God. When we are awake to the presence we are in, we are able to love others and carry out all we do, no matter how ordinary, for God. In serving God in this way, our attention-seeking ego is quietened so that the true self, the image and likeness of God, may emerge. Then our whole day becomes a prayer." Jen Charadia

When the Butterfly House was launched on All Saints Day, 2020, the first video that went live was "God Gave Me", which I filmed at Our Lady Help of Christians School, Rosemeadow, in Sydney's far southwest.
I returned in 2024 for another function I dropped in to say ho to them all and wish them well before high school. We watched their video together and there was great delight as they watched younger versions of themselves. Someone, I think it may have been Jane Webb, the principal, suggested that we could record a reunion version. So we did!
And just so we can compare, the older version follows at the end! The song also features one of my granddaughters, Cecilia, onlead vocals with me.

And finally, one from St Damien's Catholic Primary School in Dawesville, WA.
A new visual take on my song "God Of All Hearts", with thanks to Peter Hazebroek and Majella Burns for coordinating the project.
This song began its life in 1998 as a fairly ordinary country song. I really liked the tune and wanted to change it to a song of faith, particularly because of the “anthemic” chorus.
“Gospel values” are words you hear often in Catholic education. I used to hear it many times when interviewing teachers for positions in schools. One of my favourite priests, Fr Kevin Starkey often stopped teachers in an interview and asks them exactly what they meant by “Gospel Values” and I’ve listened as people sometimes struggle to articulate what these values are. So that’s what inspired the words of this song: the desire to articulate what our Gospel values are: justice, compassion, hope, peace, love, forgiveness, unity and community.
