BrightLight by Timothy Hart (Gathering, Sending Forth, Holy Spirit/Pentecost/Confirmation, Graduation)
It is with great joy that I share with you a new song "BrightLight".
Produced in collaboration with the student youth ministry leaders at Magdalene Catholic College, BrightLight is the Official Theme Song For MacFest (Macarthur Festival of Youth and Faith).
BrightLight brings to life the festival theme, inspired by the writings of St Paul, “God did not give us a spirit of fear, but rather a spirit of power and of love...” 2Tim1:7.
As a powerful liturgical-anthem, the message of this song encourages all people to welcome the fire of love into their lives, follow the call into loving service and ignite the bright light of Christ in the world.
As an uplifting song encouraging compassionate action, BrightLight could be used as a song for sending forth. Meanwhile the imagery of fire and invocation of the power of the spirit makes it appropriate for Pentecost, confirmation and other ‘Holy Spirit’ associated celebrations.
And at this time of year, if you’re still searching for a graduation song, this song might just be the one. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, and the journey of Catholic Education, BrightLight sends graduates forward to seek truth and support others as they become a light of warmth so all may feel the Christ-light.
